Futures tied to the S&amp;P 500, Nasdaq 100, and Dow Jones Industrial Average each fell about 0.3%, reflecting renewed geopolitical concerns.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Asian markets also opened lower on Wednesday. South Korea\u2019s Kospi led regional losses with a decline of more than 2%, while Japan\u2019s Nikkei 225 fell 0.71%. Australia\u2019s S&amp;P\/ASX 200 traded slightly lower. Oil prices rose following the strikes, with West Texas Intermediate crude gaining around 1% to trade near $89 per barrel.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The latest military action has raised concerns about the stability of the fragile ceasefire between the U.S. and Iran. President Donald Trump accused Iran of shooting down the helicopter near the Strait of Hormuz, though Tehran has not directly claimed responsibility.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Meanwhile, U.S. markets extended recent weakness. Semiconductor and AI-related stocks continued to retreat, pushing the Nasdaq Composite down 0.97% and the S&amp;P 500 lower by 0.26%, while the Dow gained 0.17%. Strategists noted that the recent market rally had become heavily concentrated in semiconductor stocks, leaving the sector vulnerable to a pullback.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Investors are now focused on Wednesday\u2019s Consumer Price Index report. Economists expect annual inflation to rise to 4.2%, with a monthly increase of 0.5%.
